Lawn Care Tips

Whether you have a large or small lawn, you do have to be cognizant of the lawn care. Lawn tip sites are readily available online, but if you would rather talk to someone, you can get valuable information by visiting a lawn and garden center. Not only do you have to make sure your grass is healthy, but you also have to take care of any plants or shrubs you have in your garden. You might need some tips on how to make the grass greener, just like the lawn you admire every day on the way home from work. There is nothing wrong with asking the homeowner what he/she is doing right with the lawn.

There are many factors involved in taking care of a lawn. You just can't leave it to chance that the grass will grow and flourish. Although the roots do get the nutrients they need from the soil, you can help nature along with fertilizer at regular intervals. If you would prefer not to use chemicals, ether are organic fertilizers available and you can just leave the grass clippings on the lawn. Water is essential, especially in times when the weather is hot and there is not much rain. The best time to water your lawn is in the early morning before the heat of the sun will cause the water to evaporate.

You do need to aerate the lawn to let the water get down to the roots of the grass. Weeding is a necessary chore, but there are products you can buy that will kill the weeds in the lawn. You do need to know exactly what weeds you have in order to get the correct products. If you have a lot of trees on the lawn or if the lawn is in the shade of a building, then the grass may not be getting the proper amount of sunlight. The best thing to do in this situation is to plant grass seeds that do not need a lot of sunlight in order to grow and flourish.
